Animal Actors – Does your dog have what it takes?
Adventure K-9 is pleased to provide trained canine actors and skilled handlers for film productions in the Boise area. Our handlers are adept at ensuring our dogs deliver stellar performances on set.
We’re constantly seeking to expand our roster of canine talent.
Adventure K-9 considers all breeds and ages in our search for potential animal actors. We evaluate a set of criteria to determine if a dog is well-suited for acting roles.
To qualify as an animal actor with Adventure K-9, a dog must meet certain requirements:
Temperament is key; not every dog is cut out for the film industry’s hectic nature. We seek dogs with a calm demeanor who can adapt to the bustling environment of a film set, remaining amiable and attentive amidst distractions, and who also exhibit a strong motivation for food rewards even in chaotic settings.
Training is another crucial factor.
We only consider dogs that have completed our Master Dog program, which provides the essential training foundation required for working on set. This training guarantees that the dog possesses a reliable work ethic and a communication style compatible with our handlers.
At home training maintenance.
we expect dog owners to uphold the training standards when their pets are not on set. We prefer dogs with a Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification, as it indicates the owner’s commitment to maintaining their dog’s training regimen when at home.
Health and Wellness
When evaluating dogs for our roster, we prioritize their overall health and wellness. Key aspects we consider include body condition and weight, coat type and condition, as well as nail health and length. We also seek dogs accustomed to regular handling for baths and grooming.
