1. Risk Acknowledgement & General Liability
I understand that there are inherent risks associated with training, socializing, grooming, boarding, transporting, and working with dogs in general. I assume any and all responsibility for myself and my dog(s) during training, grooming, boarding, transportation, animal actor assignments, and any other work with Adventure K-9, assuming due diligence and care have been exercised.
I will not hold Adventure K-9, its owners, employees, affiliates, or property owners responsible for any injuries or misfortunes (to or by me or my dog) while participating in any services, should they occur. I further understand that due to the way dogs interact, cuts, scratches, or illnesses (such as Canine Cough) can occur despite preventative measures. I also understand that my participation is not without risks such as tripping, falling, being knocked down, bitten, or scratched.
2. Transportation
Transportation: I hereby grant Adventure K-9 permission to transport my dog(s) in motorized vehicles for the purposes of training, outings, veterinary visits, or relocation. I acknowledge that transportation involves inherent risks of vehicular accidents and agree to hold Adventure K-9 harmless in the event of such an occurrence.
3. Animal Actor Use & Media Ownership
Animal Actor Work: I understand that my dog may be utilized as an “Animal Actor” for creative projects, demonstrations, or productions. I acknowledge that these environments may involve specialized equipment, lighting, and sounds.
Media Release: I hereby grant Adventure K-9 the irrevocable, perpetual, and worldwide right to photograph, film, and record my dog(s) and myself.
Ownership of Media: I agree that Adventure K-9 is the sole owner of all resulting media (the “Content”). Adventure K-9 has the right to use, edit, publish, and distribute this Content for any purpose, including but not limited to: social media, advertising, commercial productions, and educational materials.
Waiver of Compensation: I waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product and waive any claim to royalties, financial compensation, or ownership of the Content now or in the future.
4. Health, Vaccinations & Emergency Care
I represent that my dog(s) are in good health and have received all necessary vaccinations (or equivalent alternatives) as agreed upon by my veterinarian.
Emergency Authorization: If my dog becomes injured or ill, Adventure K-9 has the right to contact my veterinarian. If my designated veterinarian is unavailable, Adventure K-9 is authorized to take my dog(s) to the nearest animal hospital for immediate care.
Financial Responsibility: I agree to reimburse Adventure K-9 in full for any medical expenses accrued. Adventure K-9 will not be held responsible for any decisions made by the veterinarian on the dog’s behalf.
5. Indemnification
I hereby release and agree to save and hold harmless Adventure K-9, any affiliates, or property owners from any and all liability, claims, suits, actions, loss, injury, or damage of any nature or kind. I specifically agree to fully indemnify Adventure K-9 for any and all such liability or damage caused by my dog to other animals, people, or property. I understand that I am solely financially responsible for any damage or harm caused by my dog.
6. Participant Certification
I certify that I have read and understand the rules and regulations set forth herein. I understand that I do not have to do anything or allow anything to be done that I do not feel comfortable with, and I take it upon myself to ask questions and use common sense. I understand that Adventure K-9 reserves the right to remove or refuse a dog from any program at their discretion.
