Help Us Build a Better-Behaved Boise
Careers at Adventure K-9
At Adventure K-9, we believe that a well-trained dog is a dog that gets to go on more adventures. From the bustling patios of 8th Street to the quiet trails of the Boise Foothills, our mission is to strengthen the bond between Treasure Valley families and their four-legged members.
We aren’t just looking for “dog lovers”—we’re looking for patient teachers, clear communicators, and community advocates. If you’re ready to trade the office cubicle for the training floor (and the occasional trailhead), you’ve found your pack.

Now Hiring: Dog Training Apprentice
Are you the person who stops to say “hi” to every dog on the street, but also actually enjoys talking to their owners? We are looking for a high-energy, detail-oriented Dog Training Apprentice to join our pack.
This isn’t just a “pet the puppies” job (though there is some of that). It is a fast-paced, physically active role designed for someone who is serious about starting a career in canine behavior and is willing to put in the work to get there.
What You’ll Be Doing
As an apprentice, you are the backbone of our training operations. You will be:
- Supporting Elite Training: Assisting our lead trainers in executing high-level training protocols and maintaining our gold standard of excellence.
- The “K9 Chauffeur”: Safely transporting dogs to and from their homes. You’ll be the face of the company during pick-ups and drop-offs.
- Biological Fulfillment: Ensuring every dog in our care isn’t just “stored,” but is thriving. This means managing play, rest, and enrichment to meet their specific needs.
- Maintaining the Standard: Keeping our facility spotless. A clean environment is a safe environment, and we take pride in a facility that doesn’t “smell like a dog gym.”
What We’re Looking For
We are willing to train the right person from the ground up, provided you bring the following to the table:
- People People Only: Our clients are our priority. You must genuinely enjoy customer service and have at least 2 years of experience in a public-facing role.
- Safe Drivers: You need 5 years of driving experience with a sparkling clean record.
- Team Players: We operate as a unit. No egos, just a shared goal of helping dogs.
- Physical Stamina: This is a “likes to move” job. You’ll be on your feet, handling dogs of all sizes, and staying active all day.
- The Vibe: A positive, “can-do” attitude is non-negotiable. We work hard, but we have a great time doing it.
Why Join Us?
This is a rare opportunity to get a “behind-the-scenes” education in dog behavior while getting paid to learn. If you have a strong desire to learn the science and art of training, this is your foot in the door.
Our Promise: We will invest our time and knowledge into your growth if you invest your energy and heart into our dogs and clients.
How to Apply
Ready to join the pack? We’re looking for someone who stands out from the crowd. To apply, please send an email to Jennifer@ak9boise.com with the subject line “I want to drive the bus”.
In your email, please include:
- Your Resume: Highlighting your customer service experience.
- The Pitch: Tell us exactly why we shouldn’t miss the chance to interview you.
The Fun Stuff: To help us get to know you, tell us one favorite song currently in your rotation and one pet peeve you have.
